A donor advised fund (DAF) is a personal charitable giving fund established by a donor at a sponsoring charitable organization. In light of new tax legislation, a donor advised fund is an attractive option for “bunching” charitable deductions in the year your gift is made to the fund while continuing to support your favorite charitable organizations over a period of time through distributions from the fund. Although many local sponsoring organizations offer DAFs, there has never been a better time to open a DAF at the Lincoln Community Foundation. Thanks to a gift from Bill and Marilyn Cintani, new DAFs will receive a 10% match now through December 2019 (or until match funds have been distributed).
